I was reading a book about a 60s folk singer named Dave Van Ronk, he's a pretty good musician with an intresting jazz-blues-folk combination, and he made a very intresting comment. He talked about how people will look back at the 60s and see Bob Dylan, the Beatles and Van Ronk and talk about how talented and uniquely skilled the musicians were then, but he disagrees saying that the singers then are no more talented then any other generation of musicians. I then thought about my music taste and how I practically don't listen to anyone outside of the 60s folk scene. So I'll change that and start listening to a different artist/genre/style. This isn't me trying to find a replacement for my music taste or listening to a new artist every week but just listening to good music I would miss otherwise.
