10/10 my 2 fav things sitcoms and zombies
This is the first single episode that I am going to review and overall its a really hillarious episode
I am a big fan of Community (I am also reviewing this episode cause I started community college yesterday). It's got anything you can expect from a good zombie special episode references to horror/zombie movie tropes, explanation for the return to normalcy, and seeing our fav characters all fall one by one. It also references other tropes mostly popular in horror movies broadly (it is a halloween special after all) but it does have classic zombieness. It directly references the black guy dying trope and subverts it and also the boarding themselves up and starting to attack each other trope. Abed is the best character in community and he's perfect all the time but especially in the reference heavy episodes like these.
The zombies are Romero style and kinda cool in how they remain the episodic nature of the show. Since everything has to return to normal, because its a one off episode in a sit-com, this virus can be cured by lowering the AC in the building.
Love ABBA and the contrast with the dancing music and the zombies (I might return this website to the pink cause the contrast is too good).
